Business Visitor Visa (B-1)
A temporary work visa is available to business visitors: foreign nationals visiting the United States temporarily to conduct business that benefits for a foreign employer. Most often, B-1 visas are obtained so that an alien may consult, sell products, attend
conferences or business meetings, evaluate investments, etc., in the United States. A B-1 may not receive compensation from a US employer nor perform productive work in the United States that US workers could perform.
In order to obtain a B-1 visa, the applicant must show self-support in the United States, provide proof of the purpose of the business trip and demonstrate an intent to return to an unabandoned foreign residence.
Are you a foreign visitor who wishes to attend meetings, consult, sell products, settle estates or negotiate contracts in the US? For information on applying for a B-1 visa, contact Attorney Monique Kornfeld: 617-323-5049.
