Asylum
Overview
Asylum is available to individuals who can demonstrate that they have suffered past persecution or that they have a reasonable fear of future persecution on account of their race, religion, nationality, political opinion or membership in a particular social group. Attorney Kornfeld’s success in obtaining asylum for persecuted individuals is based on her individualized attention to and extensive and thorough preparation of each case.
Attorney Kornfeld has worked with asylum applicants from a variety of countries, including Chechnya, Lebanon, Kosovo, Haiti, Algeria, Guatemala, Uganda and former Soviet bloc countries (e.g. Ukraine, Russia, Belarus).
